On July 15th, 2021, candidates of Crewman Qualification Training (CQT) Class 115 completed Naval Special Warfare’s (NSW) assessment and selection pipeline. These graduates have met rigorous training demonstrating that they possess the character, cognitive and leadership attributes required to join the force.

Among these 17 graduates, is the first woman to graduate the Special Warfare Combatant-craft Crewmen (SWCC). These operators are specialists in small boats designed for the insertion of SEALs and special operation forces in support of U.S. Special Operations Command with an emphasis on inserting and extracting forces from the sea.

Navy opened up special warfare opportunities to female sailors in 2016 and from the 18 women who attempted to pass the SWCC and SEAL training, this year’s graduate is the first to make it through the rigorous training.

What an extraordinary achievement!!!
