It is such an exciting time! Today, a team of all-female pilots of Air India will fly over the North Pole.
Taking the world’s longest air route, the team will fly from San Francisco (SFO), USA to Bengaluru, India on January 9th, 2021. The total distance is about 16,000 kilometers.
Air India Captain Zoya Agarwal, is commanding this flight, and her crew is very anxiously waiting to create history on January 9th. The crew includes Papagari Thanmai, Akansha Sonawane and Shivani Manhas. The airline’s Executive Director- Captain Nivedita Bhasin is also onboard.
Flying over the North Pole is extremely technical and requires skill and experience. These ladies are all set to create history by flying as an all women cockpit crew.
The SFO airport is wearing the colours of the Indian flag to celebrate this event.
